Okay, Daisy Rock. It’s a guitar made for women with a slim and narrow neck, making it easier for those with small hands or fingers like mine to play. I love this guitar. The black satin finish, pink star graphic, and black hardware give it a unique look amongst my collection of guitars.
I stumbled upon this guitar in 2009 while browsing my favorite music store, the Guitar Center, in Marietta, Georgia. There was a guitar I had never heard of in the center aisle, and it was on sale. I was intrigued—it was priced around $300 and looked sharp. I took it down from the display, plugged it into a nearby amp, and started playing. Wow, this guitar is really easy to play. The neck was narrower than the Ovation UK-II and the Strat. And even with the factory standard action and strings, I didn’t hesitate to purchase a guitar so obviously marketed towards girls/women.
Before I discuss the guitar, I wanted to describe the vibe of this Guitar Center. They made musicians feel welcome to come in and try out guitars, keyboards, drums, bass guitars, and more. No helicopter sales reps were trying to make a quick sale. So this store got the lion’s share of my business, several guitars, a Yamaha keyboard, an amp, and many accessories. I even sold a keyboard to a woman who thought I was a sales clerk. I had been playing several keyboards, working out a song by Evanescence called “Bring Me To Life.”

Even a decade later, Paul still considers this Daisy Rock guitar one of his all-time favorites. I suspect that Daisy Rock Guitars are no longer made. All of the searches turn up only used guitars. So, if you’re looking to expand your collection of guitars with an unusual one, you might want to start searching for the best available used one. If you find one well cared for, you should consider snapping it up.
